50 Years of Service
Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle, LLP, a law firm that represents individuals and businesses in a full range of legal services, celebrates 50 years of service to its clients and the community. The firm provides legal services in many areas including business and corporate law, employment law, family law, civil litigation, personal injury, probate, estate planning, trust administration, real estate and taxation.

“Our commitment to our clients is what makes us successful,” said Joseph Lumsdaine, senior partner in the Downey office. “Years ago we adopted our written Client Commitment which constitutes the core values of our firm.”
Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle was established in Downey, California in 1961 by Harold T. Tredway. Mr. Tredway bestowed on the firm a philosophy of great legal work and public service that continues to inspire the firm today. Mr. Tredway envisioned the firm could meet the needs of the then growing community of Southeast Los Angeles County, and compete with larger law firms. Five decades later, the firm has achieved Mr. Tredway’s vision, handling matters nationwide, for clients around the globe.
Former partners of Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle include the Honorable John Torribio, Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court and Robert T. Brazelton, former Mayor of Downey, California. Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle’s attorneys have served as leaders in a number of charitable and community organizations including Rotary, Soroptimist, Kiwanis, Optimists, the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA, St. Mary’s Hospital and Miller’s Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, to name a few.
The firm has always enjoyed a special relationship with Southeast Los Angeles County ARC. The ARC is committed to providing for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities the ability to form and work towards goals through training and education, based on their individual abilities. The firm has been a major sponsor of its annual walk, firm representatives have served on its Board, and the firm has represented ARC on a pro bono basis. ARC has also given back to the Firm. Approximately sixteen years ago, the firm hired an ARC trained employee to work at the Firm, helping with copying, filing, and other tasks. The ARC honored Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle with the ARC Walk for Independence Award at its 2010 Installation and Awards Banquet. Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle has also been honored by the United States Chamber of Commerce as the Small Business of the Year for two straight years. Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle was also awarded the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.
Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle’s attorneys have served on many bar associations including South Asian Bar Association of Southern California, the Southeast County Bar Association, the Los Angeles and Long Beach Bar Associations, the Orange County Bar Association and the Women Lawyers of Long Beach. Partner Joseph Lumsdaine served as President of the Southeast County Bar Association and Associate Pamela Tahim served as President of the South Asian Bar Association. Jennifer Sawday also served as President of the Women Lawyers of Long Beach.
DOWNEY: Tredway, Lumsdaine & Doyle originated from their Downey, California location in 1961. Harold Tredway retired in 1984 but the law firm continued its operations with the same values. The law firm’s current senior partner is Joseph Lumsdaine. Mr. Lumsdaine’s practice is broad, reflecting his more than thirty years as a lawyer. He currently emphasizes probate, trusts and trust litigation. Partner Roy Jimenez has been with the firm since 1998. Mr. Jimenez is a seasoned litigator in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation. Partner Monica Goel joined the firm in 1999. She emphasizes trust administration, probate and estate planning. From the Downey Office, TLD has been a consistent supporter of local Kiwanis, Rotary, Soroptimist and Optimist organizations, the Southeast Los Angeles County ARC Association, the Southeast District Bar Association and the Downey Family YMCA.
IRVINE: The Orange County office was opened by Mark C. Doyle over twenty years ago to address the needs of clients who reside or operate businesses in Orange County. The Orange County Office is led by Partners Mark Doyle, Daniel R. Gold and Shannon Jenkins. Mark Doyle with an LLM in taxation heads the corporate and estate planning departments. Mark has been with the firm almost 30 years. Daniel Gold is a certified family law specialist who leads the family law department. Shannon Jenkins is the partner in charge of the employment law department handling a wide range of employment matters and litigation. TLD’s Orange County office regularly sponsors local charitable organizations including the Big Brothers of Orange County, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Share Our Selves.
LONG BEACH: The Long Beach office was opened in 2001, and is located at the beautiful World Trade Center offering world class amenities to our clients. Partner Matthew Kinley, joined the firm in 1989 and is a litigation attorney. He heads the firm’s personal injury practice. The Long Beach office supports numerous organizations including Rotary, St. Mary’s Hospital, Miller’s Children’s Hospital, Community Hospital of Long Beach, the Estate Planning and Trust Council of Long Beach and the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
