Cara Crownover is an associate attorney at TLD Law. Her practice includes estate planning, corporate and business law, real estate law, commercial leases and general civil litigation.
Prior to joining TLD Law in 2014, Ms. Crownover graduated cum laude from Columbia University in New York in 2010 majoring in English and Comparative Literature. She maintained a GPA which afforded her the distinction of being on the Dean’s List every semester at Columbia. While there, Ms. Crownover was invited to participate in an intensive independent study with world-renowned medievalist and Chaucer scholar, Paul H. Strohm.
Ms. Crownover went on to graduate from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Her focus was in Corporate Law and International Law and she graduated in the International Law Concentration with Honors. During law school , Ms. Crownover participated in the International Law Moot Court competition, where Ms. Crownover and her partner won second place in the final competition, and she achieved Highest Honors for having the top grade in her Business Planning course.
Also while in law school, Ms. Crownover interned for her 2L summer in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Los Angeles, and was invited back as an extern for an additional semester. While there, Ms. Crownover was involved with multiple cases involving securities fraud including insider trading, pyramid and Ponzi schemes, broker embezzlement and hedge fund fraud.
Since joining TLD Law, Ms. Crownover has been a part of the corporate transactional and civil litigation departments, placing her in a unique position to lend support to a variety of the firm’s clients’ needs.
Ms. Crownover continues her legal involvement outside of the office as a board member of Women Lawyers Long Beach serving as Secretary from 2016-2017 and now as the President Elect for 2017-2018.
